This is a ring named after the bomb-shaped French dessert the Bombe Glacée. This ring has stood the test of time. Socialites of the Edwardian era would display their trappings by wearing these large bomb-shaped rings that boasted greater numbers of gemstones, diamonds, and precious metals than ever before. The popularity of the bombe rings soared in the 50s and 60s when yellow gold again became the hallmark of Hollywood glamour. This design is inspired by that era.
